Tekir
Privacy Policy
Tekir is built local-first: the app is fully usable offline, and your data stays on your device unless you choose otherwise.
On your device
- Your provider access details, profiles, settings, viewing history, lists, and anything you download for offline viewing are stored on your device only.
- Downloaded files stay on your device: they are never uploaded, never synchronized to Tekir Cloud, and are excluded from device backup and transfer. They are deleted when you remove the download, or when the last profile using that provider subscription is deleted.
- Tekir never sends your viewing activity anywhere unless you sign in to Tekir Cloud.
Tekir Cloud (optional)
- If you sign in, your app data is synchronized to Tekir Cloud so you can restore it and use it across devices.
- Sign-in is passwordless: use a one-time code sent to your email address, or sign in with Google. There is no password for us to store or leak.
- If you sign in with Google, Google confirms your identity to us. We receive and store your Google account identifier, your email address, and the name and profile picture Google provides. We never see your Google password and have no other access to your Google account.
- Your email address anchors the account: you can link or unlink Google at any time, while email codes always remain available.
- Provider access details are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before they are stored in Tekir Cloud.
- Phone-assisted entry (typing provider details on your phone for the TV) passes what you submit through Tekir Cloud: it is encrypted (AES-256-GCM), held in server memory for at most 10 minutes, and never written to durable storage.
- You can export all of your cloud data, or permanently delete it together with your account, at any time from the app.
Installation count
- When the app starts it asks our server for its settings — feature switches, service notices, and whether an update is required. That request has always identified your installation with a random identifier the app creates on first run, alongside the platform, app version, store edition and language.
- From it we keep one record per installation: when it was first seen and when it last opened, plus those same details and the two-letter country your network reports. It tells us how many installations exist and how many are still in use. Individual launches are not recorded, and nothing here concerns what you watch.
- The identifier is stored only as an irreversible keyed hash, so this record cannot be matched to your usage statistics, your feedback, or your Tekir Cloud account. It is never linked to a person, never shared, and never used to target advertising. Because it is only a count and identifies no one, it does not ask for your consent.
- For the same reason it cannot appear in your data export or be deleted on request — nothing here can tell which record is yours. It is deleted automatically after about 13 months without a launch.
Analytics (optional)
- Usage statistics are collected only with your explicit consent, and you can withdraw it at any time. They are linked to your account and installation, so they are included in your data export and deleted with your account.
- Analytics events never carry names, payment details, precise location, or advertising identifiers.
Diagnostics (optional)
- Covered by the same consent as analytics: when your provider's panel sends responses the app cannot read, Tekir may report technical compatibility signals — which request failed to decode and how, together with the panel's host name and an installation identifier. These reports never contain your provider sign-in details, your account, or anything you watched.
- Diagnostic reports are not linked to a Tekir Cloud account and are therefore not part of your data export; the panel host is stored only as a hash keyed with a server-side secret (a peppered hash), never in plain text, and reports are deleted after about 30 days.
Retention
- Cloud data is kept until you delete it or your account; analytics events are purged after 90 days.
- IP addresses are used only for short-lived abuse protection and are never stored durably.
- Installation records are deleted after about 13 months without a launch.
